On Sunday, June 28, 2015 marked the opening of the Tindahan ni San Andres. Located at the covered area near the Neptune side of the Kalayaan gate of the Church, this new venue is now the centre of activity for vendors and small business owners.  Remy Garcia, Rose Sigua and Lolita Valentin, the group selling siomai, fried lumpia, pancit are now joined by familiar and new vendors.  These are vendors Beth Ortiz, Lydia Morales and Linda de Jesus, selling fresh fruits, biscuits, kakanin and various snacks.  Their stall may be familiar since they used to be located at the front of the Church, but have now moved to this new and improved location.  A newcomer is Lorna Arao, a Kabuhayan member as well as a member of the Shepherding Community, who is selling balut, penoy, kwek kwek and quail eggs. Now that Tindahan ni San Andres is open for business, let us encourage and support these enterprising members of our parish!

Faith is not religion, it is a relationship. No one in our generation has seen Jesus calm storms or raises someone from death or heal someone’s sickness or even change water to wine. We have not heard Him speak or share about His teachings while we sat by His feet. But through our eyes of faith, we have been spiritually healed by His death on the cross on our behalf. “Jesus said: ‘Blessed are those who have not seen the Lord and yet have believed.” – John 20:29

Last Saturday, March 10, Mrs. Chona Montinola, representing the Confraternity of The Lady of All Nations, spent a grace-filled afternoon with the Paeskwela ni San Andres scholars in the old parish center. After distributing rosaries and other prayer booklets, Mrs. Montinola led the group in praying the rosary. She then made a presentation on the history and background of this title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In a series of messages received by Ida Peerdeman in Amsterdam from 1945 to 1959, Our Lady herself requested that she be addressed as “The Lady of All Nations”.
