Mass Media Ministry

St. Andrew the Apostle Parish communicates with the community using both traditional media and new channels.

Bulletin boards on the church premises feature current, relevant missives and posters from within and outside the parish bounds. High-visibility areas on the parish grounds and in the Sub-Parishes also frequently feature tarpaulin banners promoting SAAP’s activities. The Mass Media Ministry also produces invitations, posters and flyers for major events.

A print newsletter, Parishworks, comes out weekly. Msgr. Sunga’s regular column “Pastor’s Message” has gained a following, as it provides a layman-friendly backgrounder and reflection guide on the Sunday Gospel. The newsletter is a key channel for promoting events beforehand and documenting these in pictures and articles. Its circulation as of 2008 is still at 1,000 copies weekly and with God’s grace and the help of more advertisers, the Mass Media Ministry hopes to increase circulation to provide every home in the parish a copy. Meanwhile, Sub-Parish leaders help disseminate information by creating customized missives for their respective villages.

A parish e-group, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., broadcasts just-in-time news to subscribed parishioners. The e-group has also become a moderated venue for parishioners to share reflections and life updates. There is also a parish Web site,, setup and maintained by the Media Ministry.

Creative, dynamic and passionate communicators are much needed in our parish. We are especially looking for people who like writing, editing, graphic design, Web development and telecommunications.
We welcome both professionals and students who would like to use their skills in the service of God and in developing others.
